How does it Work?
How CryoPen works
The CryoPen™ offers an incredibly precise and practical solution to skin imperfections, utilizing nitrous oxide which destroys targeted tissue within seconds. Its rapid freezing rate ensures minimal damage is done to healthy cells surrounding the lesion – typically 1mm per 5 seconds – while holding the applicator close to your skin can take anywhere from 1-30 second depending on size and depth of a lesion.

FAQ’s
Does the procedure cause any Pain?
Nitrous oxide stimulates a light tingling sensation at the applicaton site, providing an anaesthetic effect. After treatment is complete there may be a residual stinging feeling which should diminish shortly and an itchy sensation that can last for around 10 minutes.
What areas can be treated?
Cryotherapy is an effective treatment option for numerous conditions affecting the superficial layers of skin, such as viral warts, seborrhoeic keratosis and actinic keratosis. It’s important to make sure a proper diagnosis has been made before beginning cryotherapy treatments since any lesions that may be cancerous should instead be managed by your General Practitioner on the NHS.
Are the results permanent?
Cryosurgery can be an effective and permanent solution for many skin lesions. However, special care must be taken when treating delicate areas such as around the eyes due to their sensitivities; short freezing times followed by multiple repeat sessions may achieve optimal results with minimal damage. On top of that, deep abrasions like verrucae or warts might require a more intensive approach involving several aggressive treatments before finalizing success outcomes.
Will it work well on darker skin?
For those with darker skin tones, cryosurgery may not be the best choice when it comes to treating common benign lesions. Instead, repeated short freezing cycles at two week intervals are recommended – a technique that will keep your melanocytes intact and help maintain natural pigment around the targeted area.
